CBAM supplier emissions data: check it before you declare

Drop the file your non-EU supplier sent you (Excel .xlsx or CSV, one row per good). You get, row by row, what is missing or would not hold against the 16 data points the installation operator owes you, and a ready-to-send request listing exactly what to ask back. No sign-up, and the file never leaves your computer: everything runs in your browser.

The definitive CBAM regime applies from 1 January 2026 to importers of more than 50 tonnes of CBAM goods a year (European Commission). The annual declaration is due by 30 September of the following year, and certificate sales start on 1 February 2027 (DIHK). Both read on 22 October 2026.

Your supplier's file

First row = column names. The tool recognises the columns of our free template (CSV) and common variants (e.g. CN code, UN/LOCODE, SEE direct). In an Excel file, the first sheet is read.

For importers and customs representatives who collect data from many installations: check every supplier file at once, get one request per supplier, and print one dated report (save as PDF) with each file's SHA-256 fingerprint and its gaps, file by file: a trace of the checks behind your annual declaration.

What is checked

The 16 data points come from point 1.2 of Annex IV to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/2547, as listed by cbamguide.com (read on 22 October 2026). Check the Official Journal text before relying on a single point.

Data pointWhat the tool does
1–2 · Operator and installation: name, address, CBAM Registry identifier, UN/LOCODE, coordinates of the main emission sourceFlags a missing field, a UN/LOCODE that is not 2 letters + 3 characters, coordinates out of range or with fewer than 6 decimals
3 · Production process and route of each goodFlags a missing route; flags a CN code that is not 8 digits or not found in our list of CBAM headings (cement, electricity, fertilisers, iron and steel, aluminium, hydrogen)
4 · Specific direct (and, where required, indirect) embedded emissions per tonne, share on default values, free allocation, benchmarkFlags a missing or non-numeric value, a share outside 0–100 %, a value above 50 tCO2e per tonne (often kilograms entered as tonnes), and missing indirect emissions for cement and fertilisers (goods outside Annex II)
5–11 · Installation emissions, heat, zero-rated fuels, waste gases, CO2 capture, on-site electricityFlags a point left blank: the supplier should state “none” rather than leave it empty
12–16 · Precursors: CN code, country, default or actual value, origin installation, reporting periodFlags a precursor without country or basis, and an actual value without its origin installation
Method and evidenceFlags actual values without a verification report reference, a footprint calculated under the GHG Protocol or ISO 14067 (not accepted as actual values), and a carbon price paid without supporting evidence

What the tool does not do: it does not verify the emissions themselves, replace an accredited verifier, compute your certificate cost, or submit anything to the CBAM Registry. Tool built with an AI agent; found an error? contact@perennova.eu.
