EUDR GeoJSON rejected: file over 25 MB
A due diligence statement accepts 25 MB of GeoJSON in total. How to make the plot file lighter, and a free tool that measures it.
What the EU Information System expects
The limit is 25 MB per due diligence statement, all uploaded GeoJSON files together. The documentation advises using only two points for straight edges and a single point for plots under 4 hectares.

Fix it by hand
Replace the polygons of plots under 4 hectares by a single point, remove intermediate vertices on straight edges and keep 6 decimals at most; otherwise split the plots across several statements.
Fix it automatically
The checker gives the size of the corrected file against the 25 MB limit and counts the polygons under 4 hectares that a single point could replace.
Nothing is uploaded: the file is read in your browser.
Why this checker
- It repairs what can be repaired, instead of only listing errors.
- The file never leaves your computer.
- Your supplier can check and fix their own file, then send it with a SHA-256 certificate.
- Each checked file comes with a TRACES filing sheet, and the 6 steps up to the reference number.
